In the movie "The Young Victoria", the previous queen advised the new Queen:

"Don't confuse strength with stubbornness".

I'll admit, I'm guilty of it sometimes. Being stubborn, thinking... "yeah! I'm strong! I'm standing by what I said..." When in fact I just don't want to back down for fear of being seen as weak.

I think the fact lang mismo na you're afraid of being seen as weak, shows that you are indeed weak. One must indeed learn how to distinguish the two.
